Boiled Doyle on the Toil Trail
In London at the end of the 19th century, newspapers and magazines were the largest media for the general public, and each company was competing with each other over the number of copies they sold.
In such a time, in such a place. There was a man who was both a doctor and a writer - a man who was neither a famous writer nor a top-notch doctor. His name is Arthur Conan Doyle.
Upper Wimpole Street is a little far from central London. There was a clinic that Doyle opened. However, he is the only one in the examination room. There were no patients until 4:00 pm today, but he didn't seem to mind this and was enthusiastically sitting at his desk, scribbling something on a manuscript paper, when the doorbell rang. Has a patient arrived? As Doyle prepares himself, it is his wife Louisa who appears before him.
What Doyle was passionate about was writing British historical novels, which he was proud of. However, all the manuscripts were sent back by the magazine publisher, and there is no trace that they were even opened or read. Doyle is angry at the magazine publishers who keep churning out trivial three-penny novels that are popular with the masses, but he realizes that he could write something more interesting if he felt like it! I exhale. Luisa confidently encourages her husband, saying, "You can do it!" Doyle, inspired by her, decided to write something "more interesting than anyone else ever had.''
However, while wondering what to write that will appeal to the public, Doyle rescues Lord Balfour, a Conservative Party official, and his friends who were being attacked by thugs in a nighttime town, using his pride in boxing. Lord Balfour is rescued and invites Doyle to a meeting of the Society for the Study of Psychic Phenomena, to which they belong. There, Doyle witnesses miracles such as séances performed by medium Estelle Roberts and hypnosis performed by Professor Milo de Mayer.
As a token of friendship, Lord Balfour gives Doyle a fountain pen that originally belonged to Professor Mayer. A magical pen that is said to have been used for automatic writing... Doyle is skeptical and takes the fountain pen home.
The next day, Doyle tries out the magic pen! ...but nothing happens. Just as Doyle was thinking that he had no spiritual powers, the pen suddenly glowed and floated into the air! Surprised and panicked, a person he doesn't recognize appears before Doyle. The man, who called himself Sherlock Holmes, was the main character in Doyle's previous novel, A Study in Scarlet. Why is there a fictional character in front of me who can't exist in reality? Doyle is confused, but Holmes picks up his pen and inspires him to write a new story together.
Guided by Holmes, he wrote his first novel, "A Scandal in Bohemia," which, also on Holmes' advice, was submitted to Strand Magazine, the "lowest-selling" magazine. "A Scandal in Bohemia" was decided to be published on the spot by Herbert, editor-in-chief of Strand Magazine, who was looking for a serialized novel to be the centerpiece of the magazine.
The serialization of "Sherlock Holmes" begins in the July 1891 issue. The following August, September, and October issues... With each issue, Holmes becomes more popular and becomes a huge sensation. It was a huge vortex that completely changed Doyle's life.
Winter Spectacular: Frozen Holiday
Guests from all over the world gather at the secluded “FROZEN HOTEL” to spend a wonderful winter holiday as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.
The hotel is the home of the Snow Flower, reputed to bloom only once every century. Legend has it that couples who see it bloom will be united for eternity.
The sixth installment of the Spectacular Series is a revue with a luxurious atmosphere. It’s themed around Winter Vacation, packed with all the excitement of Christmas Eve through to the New Year, in enjoyable vignettes from time spent at a hotel.
Including scenes celebrating the 100th anniversary of Snow Troupe, we will treat you to the most blissful moments.

- Announced 12/07/23: The 11:00 Grand Theater matinee performance was cancelled, reason given: illness among the cast. The 15:30 afternoon performance was held as scheduled.
- Announced 12/08/23: All Grand Theater performances from 12/08 to 12/10 were cancelled.
- Announced 12/15/23: For the Tokyo run, the evening performances on 01/09, 01/16, 01/23, and 01/30, as well as the morning matinee performance on 02/06, will be cancelled. Reason given: improvement measures to reduce the actresses' overcrowded performance schedule.
