Singing Lovebirds

Adaptation and Direction by Koyanagi Naoko


Released in 1939, the Japanese film "Singing Lovebirds" is an operetta movie directed by renowned program picture director Makino Masahiro, starring Kataoka Chiezō. We will deliver a gorgeous musical unique to the Takarazuka Revue about the happenings of Asai Reisaburou, a frugal ronin living in Nagoya, and his neighbour's daughter Oharu's fight for love, together with the lord Minezawa Tanba Nokami's fervent obsession with antiques.
Please look forward to the first stage performance of this renowned operetta comedy masterpiece in Japanese film history.

This is a revue performance with its beauty and glamour unique to Takarazuka Revue, full of great dreams and love, rich in character and fragrant taste. With Yuzuka Rei as the centre, Flower Troupe will be performing scenes constructed with famous canzone music and dance scenes showing Flower Troupe's charm full of vitality. This performance is the 22nd program of the Romantic Revue series, delivering a new and alluring revue world to you.

  1. Previous cast: Sankichi - Kinami Raito, General store owner - Amashiro Rein. After Kinami Raito was announced absent from all performances, both Grand Theater and Tokyo, Amashiro Rein covered the role of Sankichi, and Kagami Seiju covered the role of General store owner.
  2. Izumi Maira was announced absent from all Grand Theater performances. Hakuto Seira covered the role of Dry goods store owner. Updated on 08/25: Izumi Maira will return for Tokyo run of Singing Lovebirds, but will not perform in the revue GRAND MIRAGE. Kinami Raito will not perform in Tokyo, including shinjin kouen.
