- Comes from a very old, wealthy family.
- Was Hankyu & Hanshin Railways' hatsumoude poster model for 1992.
- Had the longest top musumeyaku career in the company's history.
- She has acquired various nicknames from different groups of people. While "Hana" is her official nickname, and her elders call her "Hana", "Hana-chan" or "O-Hana", she is also known by the following names: "Dai-chan" by her classmates (from her real family name, Daigo); "Fusa-san" by younger members of her troupe; "Mari" or "Mari-chan" with her fanclub (from her real first name, Mariko), and a group of anonymous online fans calling themselves Retainers have dubbed her with the title "Heika", meaning 'Her Majesty'. Also, some Chinese-speaking fans refer to her as "女帝" (almost the same as 'Her Majesty').
- After retiring from Takarazuka, she and Wao Youka established a private office, with Hanafusa as the manager and Wao as the top talent. In 2011, Hanafusa resigned from said office and started her own career.
- She has studied violin playing from the age of five. 1H Sense Interview: Hanafusa Mari and her feelings on the violin.
- The first live Takarazuka performance she saw was Snow Troupe's Three Waltzes.
