This is a story that takes place shortly after humanity wakes up from the nightmare of World War I, haunted by unprecedented "Death", and the "roaring" 1920s begin...
In the middle of the night, a car was driving along a mountain road in northern Italy. The people in the car are the Duke Lamberti family. He was on his way back from celebrating the engagement of his only daughter, Grazia, in Venice. However, tragedy strikes the car carrying the family. Suddenly, the "darkness" that appeared took over the steering wheel of the car, causing it to spin, and Grazia was thrown into the darkness of the night...!
...Even though she was in a serious accident, Grazia was safe. As if nothing had happened to her. Everyone is relieved that she is safe. But Grazia felt that "something" had happened to her.
Later that same night, the Death visits Duke Lamberti. The Death, who has been lonely since the beginning of "time" and has been guiding dying souls to the "other side", is now... exhausted. Why do people afraid of dying and the Death? What is life that people cling to, what does it mean to live in the first place? Desiring to see things through other people's eyes, the Death borrows the appearance of a "handsome" Russian nobleman, Nikolai Sarki, and decides to spend a two-day vacation with the Duke's family...!
