Having premiered in London’s West End with a 9 month-long run in 2008, and subsequently played in Paris and Moscow, now Takarazuka presents Japan’s world premier of the enormously popular “Zoro the Musical.” New top star Sakuragi Minato’s
ohirome kouen debut, this show draws a dramatic portrait of human love and hate, with songs from by French music group the Gypsy Kings, passionate flamingo dancing and thrilling actions scenes.
California, beginning of the 19th Century California. Diego, the son of the governor, has been sent abroad to study in Spain but is in fact leading an uninhibited and wild lifestyle. There in Spain, he is re-acquainted with his childhood friend Luisa, who has come to tell him of his older brother Ramon’s tyranny following their father Alexandro’s death. Appealing to Diego’s singular sense of humanity, Luisa convinces him to return to California. Followed by Inez and her friends, they all return to Diego’s hometown.
Deigo hatches a plot to play the loyal, stupid little brother, swearing his fidelity to Ramon to prevent him from discovering his true attitude. All the while, he secretly dons a black mask to become “Zoro, man of mystery” champion and protectorate of the people.
Can the Deigo return peace and prosperity to his beloved hometown? And then, what about Luisa who has fallen in love with “Zoro,” unwitting of his real identity?
