The Nymph's Mask
A story about the sad love of the only daughter of a Noh performer in Nagasaki.
A colorful work with a Japanese dance drama style unique to Takarazuka.
Aya, the daughter of high-ranking Noh performer Hayamizu Shuuma, was searching for the whereabouts of Wakahiko, a disciple of her father who had betrayed him.
Wakahiko was arrested for giving the Hayamizu family's treasure, the Nymph's Mask (said to have been worshipped by the Shogun's family), to the foreign Minister Huang. But Wakahiko soon escaped from prison and fled to the Ming Empire.
Shuuma bore the blame for the incident and died in prison, and the venerable Hayamizu family ceased to exist. Aya had loved Wakahiko, but after this happened, her love turned into hatred....
Wakahiko, who went to the Ming Empire, changed his name to Li Bai and lived in Minister Huang's house. After a long period of ten years, when he returned to his nostalgic Nagasaki, Wakahiko met Aya, who had become a prostitute.
However, Wakahiko's joy at meeting Aya soon disappeared when faced with the blame for her father's death.
Learning of Aya's actions, Minister Huang decided to tell Aya the truth about what had happened in the past....
Beneath the Brilliant Stars
Set in the foggy city of London, a stage where the sorrows and joys of the love of traveling entertainers are gracefully set before you.
At a nightclub in London, a large number of guests were dancing to the song "Tears on my Cheek". The song was written by the famous composer Fred Williams when he was young.
Fred's parents were famous vaudeville entertainers, but they died when he was quite young, and Fred and his younger brother Peter joined the traveling entertainer Max's troupe, where he became a headline star.
One day, while Max's troupe was staging a charity show, they encountered a rival troupe led by Bennett, and Fred fell in love with their headline star Linda. This was unforgivable to both troupes, so the two set out on their own.
A few months later, the great showman McCree created a big show in London staring Fred and Linda that brought together the Max and Bennett troupes. The show was a huge success.
Fred became famous as a singer, lived in a mansion, lived a luxurious life, and eventually had a child.
However, great happiness comes with great sadness. Fred lost his head over Julie, a star in Bennett's show.
Then Marie learned that Julie had seduced her lover Peter. She was so jealous that she shot and killed Julie with a pistol.
The incident was exposed to the public as a scandal, and Fred's popularity collapsed in an instant.
Fred, returned to his senses, realized that Linda was the only one he loved, and vowed to live happily with her and their child.
But their happiness was short-lived, for soon after Linda was killed in an unlucky auto accident while going to buy things for a party for the two of them....
