The following is a list of Takarazuka Theme Song (主題歌 - shudaika) CDs released under the TCA label. Before 2004, the theme song albums were often released as 3in (80mm) CD singles. These discs are indicated by a ＊.
Theme Song CDs are short, studio-produced albums that include the main theme songs of Grand Theater shows. Albums range from 4 to 10 tracks long and often include off-vocal karaoke versions of the songs. Theme Song albums for two-part shows will typically feature the theme to the main play as well as that from the revue. Those for single-part shows will include the show's most prominant songs.
It's interesting to note that as these are studio-produced versions, it is not always the star who sings a song during the live show who performs on the album. Additionally, vocal parts are often adapted to be sung by a single actress, rather than by larger groups (excepting, of course, duets).
Each spring, several tracks from each Theme Song CD released during the prior year are compiled into a 20 to 25 song collection. For example, the "2007 Theme Song Collection" (宝塚歌劇全主題歌集2007 - Takarazuka Ongaku Zen Shudaikashu 2007) was released in April 2008 . These CDs can be found in the TCA Special CD Collections list.
Theme Song CDs were discontinued at the end of 2008.
