Set in Liverpool, just after WWII. Robert Freeman loses his lover Catherine to a car accident on Christmas Eve. Robert runs from a hometown full of memories and goes to London. He wants to be a scriptwriter, so he decides to lose himself in his writing.
However, upon arriving in London, he sees Catharine, who should be dead. When he immediately grabs her arm, the woman is a perfect match....
