Set in a village in Chiba at the end of the Meiji Era, this is a sad love story.
Masao and Tamiko grow up together, but as they become adults, they are separated. Masao is sent away to middle school, and Tamiko is married off. Tamiko's health is poor and she eventually passes away. Masao visits her grave with wild chrysanthemums.
