Passion: Jose and Carmen

"Passion" is based on Mérimée's original work "Carmen''. This story, set in Spain, depicts Don José, a military noncommissioned officer, who is fascinated by the free-spirited Carmen and falls in love with her. The adaptation premiered at the Cosmos Troupe in 1999 and received rave reviews. We won the Excellence Award in the Drama Division at the 54th Japan Arts Festival. The Flower Troupe will re-perform the work, which received great acclaim during the 2010 Star Troupe and 2016 Moon Troupe national tours. Please look forward to the long-awaited reenactment of this masterpiece musical filled with dramatic numbers.

This review piece is full of great dreams and love, and is full of the beauty, splendor, dignity, and elegance that are unique to Takarazuka Revue. There are scenes composed of famous canzone songs, and scenes full of vitality that explore the charm of the dancing of Flower Troupe's national tour members. This is the 22nd work in the Romantic Review series, and we will deliver a fresher and more attractive world of reviews as a neo-romantic review. 　　

• Passion: Jose and Carmen was first performed in 1999 by Cosmos Troupe, led by Shizuki Asato and Hanafusa Mari. It was revived by Star Troupe in 2010 with Yuzuki Reon and Yumesaki Nene and by Moon Troupe in 2016 with Tamaki Ryou and Manaki Reika.
• Grand Mirage!! was first performed by Flower Troupe earlier in 2023, led by Yuzuka Rei and Hoshikaze Madoka.
