- In 1960 she published a book called "American diary of the Takarazuka girl" (『ヅカむすめのアメリカ日記』), which seems to be the first book published by an active seito. This book contained the reminiscences of the 1959 North American tour, but also, the part which motivated her to write the book, the story of the death of Kazuki Hiromi during the performance of "We Children in the Flowers"; Matsushima played opposite Kazuki during that performance.
- She changed her stage name to Matsushima Minako in 1957.
- She changed her stage name to Matsushima Kayoko the same year that she retired.
